From Prague to Manchester: My favorite European Hilton hotels for under 40,000 points per night

I've earned and burned a lot of Hilton Honors points over the years. Most of my redemptions have been in Europe, largely because of Hilton's large footprint and abundance of low points cost hotels in the region. In fact, some European Hilton properties start at just 10,000 points per night at mid-tier brands like DoubleTree and Hilton Garden Inn.

In this article, I'll show you my favorite budget Hilton hotels in Europe. You won't find the most luxurious hotels on this list, but instead some of the best deals you can book on a reopening trip to Europe this summer. All hotels on this list cost under 40,000 points per night on most dates this summer.

Remember, Hilton prices award nights dynamically, and prices can change daily. Generally, however, prices stay relatively consistent through the summer barring holidays and special events. The prices listed in this article are for a one-night weekend stay in mid-July.

Hampton by Hilton Krakow - 10,000 points per night

Krakow is one of my favorite cities in Europe. It's affordable, easy to get around and the food and drink options are incredible. I've visited a handful of times over the years and always stay at the Hampton by Hilton Krakow. The hotel is newly renovated and is consistently bookable for just 10,000 Hilton points per night — not a bad deal given nightly rates hover around $70 this summer.

I've always found the property to be clean and comfortable. It's a bit outside of Krakow's city center, but you can take a local taxi for less than $5 one-way.

DoubleTree by Hilton Istanbul, Piyalepasa - 17,000 points per night

Istanbul is one of the largest cities in Europe and is home to countless points hotels. One of the best budget options for Hilton loyalists is the DoubleTree by Hilton Piyalepasa. The hotel is centrally located, and the rooms look to be a step up from a standard DoubleTree. You can book the hotel for just 17,000 Hilton points per night on many dates this summer.

DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Košice - 21,000 points per night

Košice is another one of my favorite European cities. Located in eastern Slovakia, the city has countless restaurants, bars and cultural sights. It's also an easy city to tack on to a trip to Prague or Bratislava as there's direct train service to both cities.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Košice prices at just 21,000 points per night for most of the summer, and prices drop during the week. However, paid rates can be cheap, so make sure to do the math to see if you're getting a good deal for your points.

Hilton Garden Inn Brussels City Centre - 22,000 points per night

I've been dying to go back to Brussels after visiting in 2013. The city's stunning architecture and delicious beer, chocolate, waffles and fries have been on my mind through the pandemic, and I'm already planning on stopping during an upcoming trip to Europe.

I plan to redeem Hilton points for a stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Brussels City Centre on my next trip. The hotel isn't the most luxurious in Brussels, but it has clean, no-frills rooms and is located right in the town center. Plus, the price is hard to beat at 22,000 Hilton points per night.

Hampton by Hilton Vienna, Messe - 23,000 points per night

Vienna is home to some of the world's best coffee, schnitzel and art. If it's on your European reopening itinerary, consider spending just 23,000 Hilton points per night to stay at the Hampton by Hilton Vienna Messe. It's no Park Hyatt Vienna, but its no-frills rooms are clean and it's an easy public transit ride to downtown Vienna.

Hampton by Hilton Manchester, Northern Quarter - 27,000 points per night

Manchester is my favorite city in the U.K. I visited in the summer of 2019 and found it a more manageable and affordable version of London. It has bustling city life but is easily walkable, and all the surrounding universities mean there are tons of options for food and drink.

I stayed in the Hampton Northern Quarter during my 2019 visit. It's a little bit removed from downtown, but it's still a quick 10-minute walk from downtown. It also has easy access to major attractions like Piccadilly Gardens, Heaton Park and Manchester Palace Theater. You can book a night for just 27,000 Hilton points this summer.

Hilton Prague, Old Town  - 30,000 points per night

Prague has long been my second home. I'm a Czech citizen and much of my family is in the Prague area, so I visit the city frequently. I frequently stay at either the Hilton Prague or Hilton Prague Old Town but prefer the Old Town location since it's in the center of the action. Rooms are renovated and combine Central European charm with the consistency of a Western hotel.

There are many nearby restaurants, pubs and cafes, and it's within walking distance of most major attractions. Plus, a handful of major tram and metro lines are accessible from the hotel's front door. Make sure to check out EMA Espresso Bar while you're there — it's down the block from the hotel and serves the best espresso in Prague.

Hilton London Euston — 33,000 points per night

London is expensive, but with so many points hotels, it's easy to save on accommodations. For those on a budget, the Hilton London Euston is nearby many major attractions like The British Museum and The Regent's Park. Plus, you're close to Camden Town and Central London. The numerous Tube stations make it incredibly easy to get around the city (and to the airport).

The hotel is decorated in Victorian style and, while a bit dated, has nice solid rooms that make for a great London crashpad. Like the Hilton Prague Old Town, it's a full-featured Hilton property, so you can use your Hilton elite benefits and enjoy a free breakfast every morning if you're a Gold or Diamond elite member.

How to earn Hilton Honors points

There is no shortage of ways to earn Hilton points, but spending on a Hilton cobranded credit card is the easiest. The hotel group offers four credit cards with American Express, and each has different benefits, fees and welcome offers. Some even include an annual free night certificate that is extremely valuable since it can be used at virtually any Hilton property worldwide.
