The TSA lines are getting out of control — to the point where American, Delta and United all had to use their own resources to help get the situation under control. However, there are ways to speed up the process of getting through security, including signing up for TSA PreCheck. And while there are quite a few credit cards that will give you a fee credit for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, there aren't any airline elite statuses that will offer members a fee waiver for PreCheck.

But now, JetBlue is offering all Mosaic members the opportunity to sign up for TSA's PreCheck program free of charge. The carrier emailed Mosaic members who don't currently have a Known Traveler Number in their TrueBlue accounts to sign up for the program, saying that JetBlue would cover the cost of the application fee.

JetBlue is offering Mosaic members free TSA PreCheck.

In order to take advantage, Mosaic members were emailed an award code that they must redeem on JetBlue's website by September 30, 2016. Once the Mosaic member redeems the award code, they'll receive an email within three business days that includes their TSA PreCheck voucher code and further instructions on how to complete the application, schedule the appointment and use the voucher in lieu of payment. Of course, JetBlue isn't guaranteeing that every Mosaic member will be accepted to the PreCheck program, but it will cover the cost.

The nice part about the promotion is that it's not just for the use of the TrueBlue Mosaic member — if the traveller already has PreCheck and it just wasn't synced with their account, they can gift the award code to a friend or family member.

If you don't currently have Mosaic status, but are interested in getting it, today is the last day to register for the carrier's status match/challenge for Mosaic status through December 31, 2017. In addition, you could sign up for the JetBlue Plus Card, which TPG considers a no-brainer, for expedited Mosaic status. If you spend $50,000 annually with the card, you'll get Mosaic benefits for a full year. The card comes with a 30,000-point sign-up bonus after you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days.
