Amex says new Centurion Lounge is coming to Salt Lake City
American Express will open yet another new Centurion Lounge.
Amex announced Wednesday that it will bring its popular airport club to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in 2025. The newly constructed lounge will open in the expanded Concourse B as part of phase four of SLC's redevelopment program.
When it opens, Amex will become the sole credit card issuer to operate a lounge at SLC.
American Express already has deep roots in the Salt Lake City region, including the location of the American Express National Bank headquarters in Sandy, Utah.
Plus, with Delta Air Lines' hub at SLC, opening a Centurion Lounge at the SLC airport will create many synergies. (Amex and Delta have a major tie-up that translates to billions of dollars in revenue.)
In terms of amenities, travelers can expect to find two special features in this lounge. The first is a year-round outdoor terrace with views of the airfield and the Wasatch Mountains. The second is a "Blue Roast by American Express" coffee bar that'll offer counter service with espresso drinks, cold brew and rotating seasonal creations from a soon-to-be-announced local roaster.
Additionally, you'll find many of the signature Centurion Lounge amenities in this space. The issuer promises a rotating culinary selection from a local award-winning Resy chef, cocktails from Jim Meehan and a wine list curated by Anthony Giglio, the Centurion Lounge wine director and sommelier.
Amex didn't have many more details about the new lounge, except that it will measure nearly 16,000 square feet.

When it opens, eligible cardmembers flying on Delta will have two lounges to choose from: the Delta Sky Club and the Centurion Lounge. Those traveling on all other airlines will be able to use the Centurion Lounge.

The new Centurion Lounge will give eligible Card Members a taste of what this beautiful destination has to offer and feature premium amenities for all types of travelers," said Audrey Hendley, president of American Express Travel, in a statement.
The new SLC lounge is only the latest in Amex's quest for worldwide domination of the credit card-branded airport lounge game. Just last month, the issuer opened a new outpost in Washington, D.C.'s Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), and on Aug. 1, it opened its fourth club in Mexico City.
Looking ahead, Amex has already announced that new lounges will be coming to Tokyo's Haneda Airport (HND) in 2025 and to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in 2026.
How to access the Amex Centurion Lounge network
American Express cardmembers with a Centurion- or Platinum-branded card, such as The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, have access to Amex Centurion Lounges.
Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card members also get complimentary access to Centurion Lounges when flying on a same-day Delta Air Lines-marketed or -operated flight.
You can't purchase Centurion Lounge access even if you carry another American Express card.
Note that Centurion Lounge guest policies changed last year to reduce overcrowding.
Platinum cardmembers cannot bring complimentary guests into the lounge unless they meet a $75,000 annual spending requirement on their cards. Otherwise, you'll pay $50 per adult guest and $30 per child (ages 2-17). Children under 2 can enter for free. Centurion and Corporate Platinum cardmembers can continue to bring up to two complimentary guests into the lounge.
