6 ways to redeem Capital One’s 75,000-mile welcome offer for maximum value
Editor's Note
A huge 75,000-mile welcome bonus on Capital One's Venture cards can unlock everything from lie-flat flights to Europe to hundreds of dollars in straightforward travel credits — but only if you understand how to maximize it.
You can cover recent travel purchases at a rate of 1 cent per mile, making 75,000 miles worth $750 toward travel. However, the best way to maximize Capital One miles is by transferring them to one of 15-plus airline and hotel transfer partners.
The more premium Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card is currently offering 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 within the first three months from account opening.
And the more affordable Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is offering 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. Plus, upon approval, you'll receive a $250 Capital One Travel credit to use during your first year. This limited-time Venture Rewards offer is ending soon, so it may be worth applying sooner rather than later if this card is on your radar.
Here are six ways to maximize your Capital One Venture welcome bonus.

Fly round-trip to Europe
By transferring your Capital One miles to Air France-KLM's Flying Blue program at a 1:1 ratio, you can take advantage of some of the best redemption rates on flights to Europe. The program offers one-way flights between the U.S. and Europe from:
- 25,000 miles in economy
- 40,000 miles in premium economy
- 60,000 miles in business class (availability can be limited)
By spending $4,000 on either the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to earn the welcome bonus — thanks to both cards' generous earning rates of at least 2 miles per dollar spent on every purchase — new cardholders would have at least 83,000 Capital One miles to redeem (through the combination of the 75,000-mile welcome bonus plus 8,000 miles from the $4,000 in purchases). This is more than enough miles for a round-trip flight to Europe in premium economy (depending on pricing and availability).

TPG travel writer Rachel Craft recently booked round-trip flights from Denver to Europe over the 2025 holiday season for just 30,000 miles and about $300 in taxes and fees per person, thanks to a Flying Blue Promo Rewards discount. Her itinerary included flying into Prague and returning from Brussels. (Cash prices for the same flights were roughly $3,200 for two tickets.)
That's about 4.3 cents per mile — well above TPG's April 2026 valuations of 1.3 cents for Flying Blue miles and 1.85 cents for Capital One miles — highlighting the strong value you can get from this bonus when maximizing promotions and transfer partners.
Fly United Airlines' Polaris business class to Europe
While United Airlines is not a Capital One transfer partner, you can transfer miles to Air Canada's Aeroplan program to book Star Alliance flights on carriers like United, Lufthansa and Swiss.
Aeroplan uses a distance-based award chart, through which you can book business-class flights to Europe starting at:
- 60,000 points one-way (for flights up to 4,000 miles)
- 70,000 points one-way (for flights up to 6,000 miles)

Your 75,000 bonus miles from Capital One could score you a one-way overnight flight to Europe in a lie-flat seat. You're more likely to arrive rested, refreshed and ready to explore the U.K., Italy, Spain, Greece and beyond.

Book several domestic flights
Capital One miles can also be transferred to British Airways Executive Club, which uses Avios as its currency, and offers a simple way to book domestic flights on American Airlines.
Flights are priced based on distance, with short-haul routes starting at 7,500 Avios one-way on off-peak dates. This can be a great option for flights under a few hours, such as routes within California or between major West Coast cities.

With 75,000 miles, you could book 10 of these one-way domestic flights, making this a practical way to stretch your rewards for frequent trips.
Just keep in mind, availability is based on saver-level award space, so flexibility can help you find the best deals.
Save money on your next hotel stay
Accor Live Limitless is the loyalty program of over 40 hotel brands, including Fairmont, Sofitel, Mondrian, Mercure and Ibis, and is a transfer partner of Capital One miles at a 2:1 ratio.

The program uses a fixed-value redemption scheme. You can redeem 2,000 points for a 40-euro (about $46) discount on your hotel stay. Since you'd need to transfer 4,000 Capital One miles to get 2,000 ALL points, your Capital One miles would be worth 1.05 cents each, making that 75,000-mile bonus worth $788.

Fly round-trip business class to London on Virgin Atlantic
Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club is a 1:1 transfer partner of Capital One miles.
Business-class Saver fares on Virgin Atlantic flights to the U.K. start at just 29,000 points each way during promos. If you can find availability, your 75,000-mile bonus may be enough for a round-trip flight in lie-flat business class — with 17,000 points leftover.

Just note that high fees, taxes and carrier-imposed surcharges apply; unfortunately, the U.K. Air Passenger Duty cannot be avoided.

Redeem Capital One miles for flexible travel purchases
While not typically the most lucrative redemption option, redeeming Capital One miles for travel purchases can offer a simple and approachable alternative to navigating transfer partners.
Transferring miles to airline and hotel programs can provide higher value, but it does require finding award availability and being flexible with your plans. Redeeming miles at a fixed value of 1 cent per mile for travel purchases, on the other hand, allows you to book a wide range of expenses — including flights, hotels, trains and vacation rentals — and then "erase" the cost afterward.

For example, TPG managing editor Madison Blancaflor used Capital One miles to cover train tickets and Airbnb stays during a multi-city European trip to Budapest, Prague and Vienna — expenses that typically can't be booked with points.
With a 75,000-mile welcome bonus, you could offset up to $750 in travel purchases this way. Just keep in mind that this redemption option is only available for travel purchases made in the last 90 days.
While this approach doesn't deliver the same outsize value as transferring to partners, it offers consistency and flexibility, making it a useful option when award availability is limited or your plans don't fit traditional redemption options.

Bottom line
Capital One's 75,000-mile welcome offers on the Venture X and Venture Rewards can unlock incredible redemption options, whether you want to fly domestically or abroad, or save money on your next hotel stay.
The current offer on the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is ending soon, so don't miss out on the chance to earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. Plus, upon approval, receive a $250 Capital One Travel credit to use during the first year.
If you're willing to transfer your miles and search for award availability, you may be able to get outsize value. But even at a fixed rate, the valuable bonus can still cover hundreds of dollars in travel.
Ending soon: Earn 75,000 bonus miles and a $250 Capital One Travel credit with the Venture Rewards.
