New cruise deal: Book a Holland America ship in the next 30 days and get extra perks
Holland America is celebrating a big anniversary this month by putting some extra cash in the pockets of its customers.
On Friday, the Seattle-based cruise line, which will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its first voyage on Saturday, kicked off a monthlong anniversary promotion that gives customers up to $150 in extra onboard spending money when they make a new booking for select 2023 and 2024 sailings.
For those booking cruises to Alaska, the 150th Anniversary Offer, as Holland America is calling the promotion, also brings a complimentary Alaska shore excursion.
As part of the offer, the line is reducing the deposit required to book a cruise by 50%, meaning you can reserve a sailing for 2023 or 2024 right now by putting down as little as $350.
In addition, you can combine the offer with the line's Have It All premium package that includes some shore excursions, specialty dining, a beverage package and Wi-Fi at base prices.
The offer will be available through Nov. 15.
Holland America 150th Anniversary Offer details
As is typical for Holland America promotions, the 150th Anniversary Offer is not applicable to all sailings. Holland America says the promotion doesn't apply to longer Grand Voyages or any voyage that lasts three or fewer days.
Customers also are eligible for the offer just once. A maximum of two passengers in a cabin are eligible.

Under the terms of the offer, passengers will get an onboard spending credit that ranges from $75 to $150 per person ($150 to $300 per cabin) depending on the type of cabin booked. Specifically, the onboard credit will be:
- $75 per person ($150 per cabin) for passengers in windowless "interior" and ocean-view cabins.
- $150 per person ($300 per cabin) for passengers in balcony cabins and Vista, Signature, Neptune and Pinnacle suites.
The onboard credit is not refundable or transferable. Passengers must spend it on board for things such as shore excursions, drinks, items from shipboard shops and spa services. They can't use it in shipboard casinos.
The complimentary Alaska shore excursion piece of the offer applies to new bookings for Alaska cruises that begin or end in Vancouver, British Columbia, as well as Glacier Bay cruises and Holland America cruisetours (excludes cruisetour categories Y3-Y6).
Customers will receive a credit for one shore excursion on the White Pass Summit Scenic Railroad in Skagway, Alaska.

In addition to the perks above, Holland America on Friday announced a new sweepstakes tied to its 150th anniversary that will bring the winner a free cruise for two in a suite.
It runs through March 31, and no purchase is necessary to enter. Find more information on entering online.
