This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

We've all waited patiently for summer's arrival, and in June, it finally appears. It brings warm weather to the Northern Hemisphere, but often not the dense humidity that blankets many destinations later in the season. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere has its last gasp of fall before cold temperatures fully kick in.

Though the start of summer vacation can cause prices and crowds to rise as kids get out of school, June also brings lots of outdoor festivals and several highly anticipated new or seasonal summer airline routes.

Whether you want to plan a quick weekend getaway to a nearby city or go on an epic outdoor adventure, here are 10 great places to visit this June.

Paris

Any time is a good time to visit the City of Light, but June is ideal. In addition to lovely weather and fewer crowds than later in the summer, there are also several festivals worth traveling to this month: Nuit Blanche Paris is on June 6; the Fete de la Musique festival is on June 21; and the Paris Jazz Festival starts June 24.

Several exciting exhibitions open in June: From June 6-28, "La Caverne du Pont Neuf" by French photographer and street artist JR reimagines Point Neuf — Paris' oldest bridge — as a stone grotto homage to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's iconic The Pont Neuf Wrapped, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. From March 24-July 26, "Matisse: 1941–1954" is on view at the Grand Palais. From April 1-July 14, the National Archives honors the Marquis de Lafayette, America's 250th anniversary and Lafayette College's 200th anniversary with "Lafayette between France and America: History and Legend."

Bibliophiles should check out Nanna, a bookstore and literature-themed venue set aboard a boat moored at Notre Dame Cathedral, opening in May. And for any "Frozen" fans: Disneyland Paris has debuted World of Frozen in the Disney Adventure World Park.

TPG tip: If you do go to Disneyland Paris, stay nearby at Hotel Paris Marne-La-Vallée, which reopened in April after a major renovation. Rates start at $185 or 37,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Singapore

Singapore in June might surprise you, but the weather is not as hot as you'd think. It ranges between 77 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit, while short rain showers typically last a few minutes.

While you're there, visit the Malay Heritage Center, which recently reopened after renovations. Immerse yourself in nature at Exploria, a massive, multisensory indoor nature-themed attraction that opened at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in March. For a contemporary cultural experience, visit IMBA, a theater and gallery space within Gardens on the Bay, which also debuted in March.

And another one for Disney fans: Disney Adventure is a brand-new ship from Disney Cruise Line sailing from Singapore on three- and four-night itineraries.

TPG tip: Spend or earn Marriott Bonvoy points at Varel Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio, which opened in February. Rates start at $238 or 33,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Queensland, Australia

2026 is one of the most significant years in Tropical North Queensland's history. Cairns marks its 150th anniversary, the Great Barrier Reef celebrates 45 years as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and at Mossman Gorge, the Kuku Yalanji-led Ngadiku Dreamtime Walk reaches its 40th year.

June is the perfect time to visit: there are warm days, cool nights and no humidity for exploring Australia's Sunshine State and its more than 4,000 miles of coastline and 2.5 million acres of rainforest.

Opening in May, the Ngaro Track is a premium guided walk through one of the Whitsundays' most remote landscapes, running from South Whitehaven Beach to Tongue Point over three days and two nights. Guided walks with World Expeditions start from $2,195 per person, including camping equipment, meals, and marine transfers from Airlie Beach. And while you're there, look out for whales: the Whitsunday Islands host thousands of humpback whales annually, and June is whale migration season.

Billed as the world's first cliff park, Happitat at Binna Burra opened in January with a via ferrata network built into the escarpment above the Gold Coast hinterland. And if you're in Brisbane, check out the "Olafur Eliasson: Presence" immersive exhibit at QAGOMA, open now through July 12.

To get to Queensland, consider flying with Fiji Airways, which is adding a second Queensland gateway to Gold Coast Airport (OOL) from Nadi International Airport (NAN) in June. Tickets from the U.S. include a free layover in Fiji.

TPG tip: Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel debuts in May as the first full-service, internationally branded hotel to open on the Sunshine Coast in 4 decades (rates from $226 per night). Elysium Noosa Resort - MGallery Collection opened at the very end of last year and is bookable starting at $375 per night or with Accor Live Limitless points.

Chicago

Chicago's big news is the much-awaited opening of the Obama Presidential Center Museum. Located on the South Side, the 19-acre campus opens on June 19, with tickets going on sale May 6. The weekend of June 20-21 will have a free, open-house-style event with performances, food and family-friendly activities.

If you're in the city earlier in the month, check out the Chicago Blues Festival, running June 4-7 as the largest free blues festival in the world. And visit the world's largest magic venue, the Hand and the Eye, which opened in April.

TPG tip: There are several new United flight routes and American Airlines will grow its Chicago hub with new service to Allentown, Pennsylvania and Columbia, South Carolina, both launching May 21.

Kenya

June is a great time to visit Kenya, just as the rains are ending and the dry season begins, with cooler weather ideal for wildlife viewing. And you'll beat the crowds (and higher prices) that come later in summer for the migrations.

TPG tip: Kitirua Plains Lodge, a new camp from Abercrombie & Kent in Amboseli National Park set on a 128-acre private concession, opens June 1. Choice Hotels International has entered the African market with two recent 2026 openings in Kenya: La Maison Royale, Ascend Collection Hotel, in the Maasai Mara (rates from $283 or 50,000 Choice Privileges points per night) and in Nairobi, the Clarion Hotel Nairobi (rates from $55 per night, point redemption rates not yet available).

Portugal

Before the weather becomes too hot, Portugal comes alive in June with countless festivals around the country. Festival Med in Loule in the Algarve takes place June 25-27 this year, while Lisbon's biggest party, Festas de Lisboa is a month-long celebration of Santo Antonio, with parades and main events occurring June 12-13. Porto's answer is Festa de Sao Joao (June 23-24), with plastic hammer tapping, fireworks over the Douro River, bonfires and all-night partying. Porto also hosts the world-famous Primavera Sound Porto music festival (June 11-14), featuring headliners such as the XX, Massive Attack and Gorillaz. And June 10 is Dia de Portugal, a national holiday.

In Lisbon, stop by MACAM, the new combination art hotel and museum that opened last year inside an 18th-century palace.

And getting there is even easier: TAP Air Portugal added direct flights from Los Angeles to Lisbon last May, and Delta Air Lines will launch flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Porto on May 21.

TPG tip: Hyatt is going big in Portugal, with a slew of new hotels: Andaz Lisbon opened in March (rates from $403 or 29,000 World of Hyatt points per night), Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve opened January (rates from $296 or 12,000 World of Hyatt points per night), and Masana Algarve Destination by Hyatt opened in March (rates from $381 or 25,000 World of Hyatt points per night). The Standard Lisbon opens later this year.

Bentonville, Arkansas

Known as the mountain biking capital of the world, June is an ideal month if you plan to bike along some of its 140 miles of trails — and Bentonville Bike Fest takes place June 9-14. Arkansas' first lift-serviced mountain biking park, Oz Bike Park, opens June 12.

Art lovers should head to the long-anticipated new wing of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, which opens June 6, with grand opening celebrations taking place all weekend. The Ozark Discovery Canopy, an outdoor science- and nature-based children's play area, also opens on the extensive campus. And, Bentonville Film Fest takes place June 15-21, chaired by Geena Davis.

TPG tip: AC Hotel Bentonville opened last May, with rates starting at $255 or 17,500 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. The city's newest hotel is the Compton, a nature-themed boutique hotel just off Bentonville Town Square.

Atacama Desert, Chile

June is the start of winter in northern Chile's Atacama Desert, and it brings some of the clearest skies of the year, making it a must-visit destination for dark sky enthusiasts. Visit the ALMA Observatory for exceptional night sky viewing. During the day, see the Tatio Geysers in the early morning and then warm up at the Puritama Hot Springs.

TPG tip: Last year brought a $20 million refresh to the luxurious Tierra Atacama, which is now part of the new Beckons hotel group. This property offers views of the Licancabur stratovolcano and rooms with private terraces and indoor-outdoor showers. Rates start at $1,870 per night in June.

Turks and Caicos

Although June is technically the start of hurricane season in the Caribbean, these early summer weeks are usually not a problem. Because it is low season, you'll likely find fewer crowds and lower prices on hotels and flights. While you're on the island, check out the lively Race for the Conch event on June 27.

There are several new flight routes to the island chain: Frontier Airlines now offers weekly nonstop service from Atlanta to Providenciales (launched December 2025), and American Airlines launched its first nonstop flights from Miami to South Caicos last year.

TPG tip: Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay opened in March, with rates starting from $347 or 56,100 IHG One Rewards points per night. Beaches Turks & Caicos launched new villas at Treasure Beach in April, and Grace Bay Club has newly renovated rooms and a new Family Club. It's part of American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts and Chase's The Edit and is a member of Leading Hotels of the World (nightly rates from $910).

Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, opened on South Caicos last year with rates from $749 or 90,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. However, if you have the right Chase credit card, you can get 2.5 cents of value per point by booking it through Chase Travel℠ with Points Boost.

Seattle

Seattle is hosting six FIFA World Cup 2026 matches at Lumen Field, including the highly anticipated match between the USA and Australia on June 19. While you're there, enjoy the city's reimagined waterfront, including a new 20-acre park with new pedestrian and bike paths, playgrounds, beaches and piers hosting concerts and other community events. In Belltown, visit the new Cannonball Arts Center, with two stories of contemporary art inside the former Bed Bath & Beyond.

The city is also more connected, thanks to new Alaska Airlines flights launched in March between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Tulsa International Airport (TUL), and in April between SEA and Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV) in northern California.

TPG tip: Element Seattle Downtown opened in January with rates starting at $255 or 37,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.
