There’s a very cool, underused service offered by some (but not all) airlines that makes miles redemptions more achievable, puts unused rewards to better use and gets your whole family (or framily) active in your points and miles game.
I’m talking about pooling (or sharing) — the ability to combine miles across a group of people. A growing number of airlines are offering this service for free. Which is incredible, because it lets you:
Policies vary, and some airlines still only let you transfer miles for a fee. But U.S. airline programs like JetBlue TrueBlue, Frontier Miles and even United MileagePlus now have great options for shared earning and redeeming with few restrictions. And even more international carriers allow this.
