Points and miles have let me visit many amazing destinations, often while flying in a premium cabin. From Qatar Airways’ Qsuite to Singapore Airlines’ Suites (pictured above), points and miles can unlock some wonderful inflight experiences.
One common mistake is only earning points and miles with one airline loyalty program. If this program devalues its awards, you may suddenly need more rewards than you expected to book your trip. This is why we recommend collecting transferable points and only transferring them to the airline loyalty program once you’ve found award availability and are ready to book.
Another common mistake is not being flexible with your dates and airports. Even if your dates aren’t flexible, you can usually still be flexible regarding airports. For example, consider flying into a nearby airport and then taking a train or positioning flight to your desired destination.
