While I'm not the biggest fan of Las Vegas, I always end up going there a couple of times a year, whether I like it or not (and free flights certainly help!). However, I'm always disappointed at the number and quality of points earning hotels. There are very few of the major hotels participating in mainstream points programs. The most appealing to me is the new Cosmopolitan hotel, which is a part of the Marriott Autograph collection. Planet Hollywood used to be a decent choice for Starwood guests, but they are no longer affiliated.

So I was pretty excited to hear that The Venetian/ Palazzo is joining the Priority Club Rewards program as a partner of the Intercontinental Hotels Group. While the details of the elite program benefits are still being worked out (primarily what type of Ambassador and Royal Ambassador benefits will be offered), the property is currently showing up on intercontinental.com and members can already use points to book award stays - even on New Year's Eve.

Updated: Free nights using points/ cash and points:
40000 Priority Club Points
or 35000 Points + $40
or 30000 Points + $60

I stayed here last May and was very impressed with the rooms. It's an all-suite hotel, so rooms are spacious and have a sunken living area with huge windows that have electronically controlled shades. I personally found the room to be much more comfortable and modern than the standard rooms at the Bellagio.

Overall, the Venetian/Palazzo is an inviting addition to the Priority Club/Intercontinental program and while Vegas hotels are usually pretty cheap (at least compared to most major cities), it'll be nice to be able to earn valuable points and enjoy extra benefits during paid stays.
