American Express cardholders are eligible to receive an additional 4,500 Membership Rewards points after spending just $150 with Turo via American Express' Amex Offers program. Turo is a car rental platform with rentals available in the US, UK, Germany and Canada. Cardholders who add this offer to their American Express card can reach the minimum spend relatively easily while earning a hefty bonus of 4,500 Amex points. Here's what you need to know about this offer.
What Exactly is Turo?
Turo is a car rental platform that allows users to list their personal vehicle for rent or rent vehicles from private individuals. Turo is more of a car-sharing application rather than a car rental agency and somewhat resembles Airbnb. Individual users list their personal vehicles on the website instead of Turo operating its own fleet of rental cars.
In some cases users with listings may even provide delivery to an airport, private residence, office, or hotel — but usually for a fee. It should be noted that like on Airbnb, car quality will vary. In some cases, renting via Turo might appear cheaper than if you were to rent via a major car rental company — just make sure to make it to the checkout page to see the final price with all fees included. This Amex Offer shouldn't be too hard to take advantage of. Cardholders who register for this offer will be able to hit the minimum spend requirement of $150 through a one-day luxury rental or multi-day rental with a standard car. According to TPG's most recent valuations, 4,500 Membership Rewards points are worth around $90. So, spend $150+ and receive $90 in Membership Rewards points.
How to Register for This Offer
This American Express appears to be widely targeted and should be available to most American Express cardholders. To register for this promotion, simply head to your American Express account's dashboard. Once at your dashboard, scroll down to the Amex Offers section.
Most users will likely have to click "See All" as only a handful of offers will appear on the initial dashboard. Scroll down until you locate the Turo offer and click "Add to Card." Once you have confirmed that the offer has been added to your desired card, simply use your card for your next Turo reservation. You'll have to make the transaction before August 20, 2019 to earn the bonus points.
This offer is just one of many currently available to American Express cardholders.
