The Edit by Chase Travel: Benefits, perks and how it works
Editor's Note
Luxury hotel programs offer a pathway for cardholders of select premium credit cards to get extra perks on select hotel stays. One of these programs, The Edit by Chase Travel℠, lets cardholders of select premium Chase credit cards enjoy extra perks, such as daily breakfast, a property credit and space-available upgrades, when they book stays through the program.
In this guide, we'll explain which cards are eligible to book The Edit hotels, the benefits you can enjoy when booking through The Edit by Chase Travel and what you should know about this program.
What is The Edit by Chase Travel, and how does it work?
The Edit by Chase Travel is a luxury hotel program that offers select Chase cardholders extra benefits at more than 1,000 hotels, resorts, lodges and boutique properties worldwide. The properties bookable through The Edit program are a mix of independent properties and those belonging to popular hotel brands, such as Park Hyatt, InterContinental and Four Seasons.
Which Chase cards are eligible for The Edit?
To book a hotel stay through The Edit by Chase Travel, you must have one of the following cards:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees)
- Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (see rates and fees)
- J.P. Morgan Reserve®
The information for the J.P. Morgan Reserve has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

The Edit by Chase Travel benefits and perks explained
When you book a stay through The Edit by Chase Travel, you'll get the following perks:
- Daily breakfast for two
- A $100 property credit per booking
- A welcome amenity (subject to availability)
- Complimentary Wi-Fi at properties that offer Wi-Fi
- A room upgrade at check-in (when available)
- Early check-in and late checkout (when available)

Each property can decide whether to offer sit-down service or a buffet for breakfast. And while you can usually use the $100 property credit for on-site dining, spa services and activities, it's best to confirm with the specific property which charges are eligible.
Meanwhile, the welcome amenity may include local snacks or gifts that are specific to the property or destination. To give yourself the best shot at an upgrade, try to check in earlier in the day.
Be sure to consider the value of these benefits at The Edit hotels when deciding how to book. The price when booking through luxury hotel programs like The Edit by Chase Travel can be similar to booking directly, but it may also be higher or lower.
The Edit statement credits for Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders
If you are a primary cardholder of the Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, you're eligible for up to $500 in Sapphire Reserve The Edit credits each calendar year.
You'll get a statement credit of up to $250 for qualifying purchases with The Edit by Chase Travel, for a total maximum accumulation of $500 in statement credits each calendar year. This means you'll need to make at least two purchases with The Edit by Chase Travel each calendar year to fully utilize the credit.

Consumer and business Sapphire Reserve cardholders also get up to $250 in additional statement credits in 2026 (through Dec. 31) when they use their card to book one or more qualifying stays at the following hotel brands through Chase Travel (including The Edit):
- IHG Hotels & Resorts
- Minor Hotels
- Montage Hotels & Resorts
- Omni Hotels & Resorts
- Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts
- Pendry Hotels & Resorts
- Virgin Hotels
You'll see an "Eligible for $250 select hotel credit" notation when a property is eligible.

For both types of statement credits, only purchases by you or an authorized user on your account of prepaid "Pay Now" stays of two nights or more are eligible for the credit. Once you make a qualifying purchase, you'll usually see the statement credit post to your account within three business days (but it can take up to four weeks). Note that Chase may reverse the credit if you cancel or modify your booking or if you close your account within 90 days of getting a statement credit.

How to book hotels through The Edit by Chase Travel
To book through The Edit, log in to Chase Travel with an account that has an eligible card. To start a search, enter your destination, dates and number of guests in the search boxes at the top of the page.

Once you find a hotel you like, click on it and then select the room type you want.

Once you select a room type and rate, you can select whether to pay now (which you'll need to do if you want to use one of the statement credits discussed above) or pay later at the property.
When you pay with your Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business for purchases through Chase Travel, you'll earn 8 points per dollar spent. Alternatively, if you opt to redeem Chase points, you'll usually get 2 cents per point on Points Boost hotels and 1.65 cents per point on other hotels.

As always, be sure to consider the cancellation policy and any additional hotel charges, such as resort fees, before booking.

Will I earn elite status or loyalty benefits?
When you book through The Edit, your hotel loyalty benefits may be honored. When searching for The Edit hotels, you'll see a notation if the property is eligible for loyalty benefits.
For example, when looking at the Park Hyatt Washington D.C., you'll see an "Eligible for World of Hyatt" notation.

If you see such a notation on a hotel you book through The Edit by Chase Travel, you'll earn elite night credits and hotel points and receive benefits associated with your elite status on your stay.

Is The Edit by Chase Travel worth it?
Booking through The Edit by Chase Travel is generally worth it. However, it's best to compare your booking options to ensure you get the best value and benefits for your stay.

The Edit by Chase Travel resembles American Express' Fine Hotels + Resorts program, and you can book some hotels through both programs. But when you book with Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, your late checkout is guaranteed until 4 p.m. Meanwhile, The Edit by Chase Travel only offers late checkout based on availability.
Other card-related luxury hotel programs include Capital One's Lifestyle Collection and Amex's The Hotel Collection. However, when compared with The Edit by Chase Travel, the benefits from these programs aren't as extensive or valuable. They do offer the opportunity to book some less expensive hotels, though.

Finally, booking directly will usually provide more rate options, including AAA, AARP and corporate rates. So, you'll often find less expensive rates when booking directly. Plus, when booking directly, you can also click through an online shopping portal and earn extra rewards on your booking.
In short, compare your benefits and rates across several booking options to decide which is best. Sometimes, it may be worth paying more for a hotel stay booked via The Edit to get the daily breakfast for two and a $100 property credit.

When to use The Edit by Chase Travel
Even if the rates aren't the lowest, booking through a program like The Edit by Chase Travel can be a good idea in some instances.
Short stays
One of the most significant selling points of The Edit by Chase Travel is the property credit. However, you'll get this benefit per stay, not per night. So, the shorter your stay, the better value this represents.

As such, it may be worth booking The Edit hotels for a night or two at the beginning or end of trips to squeeze the most value out of this perk. Keep in mind, though, that you'll need to stay for at least two nights to utilize the statement credits discussed earlier in this guide.
Boutique and nonchain hotels
Booking The Edit hotels is a great way to get some extra perks at boutique and nonchain properties. Some luxury hotels aren't part of a major hotel loyalty program, so booking through The Edit by Chase Travel can be an excellent way to get more benefits and recognition.
Travelers without elite status
Daily breakfast for two and space-available upgrades at check-in can make you feel like a top-tier elite member, even if you hold no status in the hotel's loyalty program. That's because booking through The Edit by Chase Travel provides many of the same perks as hotel elite status.

As such, booking The Edit hotels can be a smart choice when staying at a property that participates in a loyalty program for which you don't have a high tier of elite status.

Bottom line
If you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business, you'll want to book a few stays at The Edit hotels each year to use the statement credits on your card. But even once these statement credits are exhausted, it can still make sense to book stays through The Edit by Chase Travel for on-site perks, such as daily breakfast for two and a $100 property credit.
