Quick summary

Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here.

As we typically see on the first day of the month, many new — and truthfully quite amazing — Amex Offers appeared in my American Express account today. And from the looks of it, many of these offers are widely available, which means there's a good chance that your Amex Membership Rewards-earning credit card is about to save you some money or earn you bonus points.

And while not necessarily new, many Amex cardholders can still take advantage of trial offers for select services, where you'll receive complimentary, limited-time memberships to select subscriptions — with absolutely no spend required.

Just remember that some of these offers are targeted and may require enrollment to utilize — but read on for more details on what you may find in your American Express account.

New Amex Offers

Let's start off with the traditional offers that have appeared as of today. While many new ones popped up this morning, there are a few that are going to be the most popular. They include Airbnb, Uber Eats and Shake Shack. Others might also enjoy the offers at ULTA Beauty, Magnolia Bakery, Blue Apron and Zoom.

Earn 5,000 bonus points with Airbnb

If you are looking to book an Airbnb rental for your next trip, you may be able to earn 5,000 bonus Membership Reward points on a booking of $250 or more. With Membership Rewards points worth 2 cents apiece (based on TPG's valuations), the bonus points may net you another $100 towards travel — a huge return on your vacation home rental.

Earn 5x bonus points with Uber Eats

For every dollar you spend on an Uber Eats delivery order, targeted cardholders can earn 5 additional Membership Rewards points. With this offer, you're capped at earning 1,500 bonus points, which means $300 in total spending will earn you the maximum bonus.

Note that TPG also has a list of many promo codes to help you save even more on your food order — especially if you've never utilized Uber Eats before. For example, new users can try code "US25WELCOME" to save $25 on their first order. Also, the code "BROADWAY" might give you $25 off from select restaurants.

Additionally, with both the The Platinum Card® from American Express and the American Express® Gold Card, you can receive a complimentary 12-month subscription when you enroll by Dec. 31, 2021.

$5 statement credit at Shake Shack

Who doesn't love a Shake Shack burger? Fortunately, through the month of December, your next visit may be slightly cheaper. If you're targeted for the current offer and spend $15 or more in a single purchase, you'll receive a $5 statement credit — as long as you activate it ahead of time.

This should also stack with the $10 monthly dining statement credit that's provided to those with the Amex Gold Card. While there are many participating merchants, select Shake Shack locations are among them. Combine this targeted Amex Offer with your monthly $10 allotment, and your meal just became even less expensive.

Trial Membership offers

In addition to the normal Amex Offers, there are a whole slew of free trial offers for various kinds of services. With these, no spend is required. Instead, you'll receive a complimentary membership upon enrolling. Even better, it seems as though all U.S. American Express cardmembers are eligible.

Trial memberships include Panera, Future, Audible, ONDA and Daily Burn. Just keep in mind that your "free" membership will auto-renew after the promotional timeframe at the current monthly rate if you do not cancel.

You can check out the details of all of the offers here, but let's take a look at Panera and Audible — two of our favorite offers.

6 free months with MyPanera+ Coffee

This offer launched in November, and it allows you to enjoy an unlimited amount of coffee or hot tea — for free — for the next six months. The only caveat: You must be a new MyPanera+ Coffee subscriber. You must enroll for the offer by Jan. 31, 2022, and your six month membership will start from the time of enrollment.

6 free months of Audible Plus

This also isn't new, but Amex cardholders can get unlimited access to audiobooks and podcasts with an Audible Plus membership for the next six months. This is also only valid for new Audible Subscribers. This offer is valid through Feb. 28, 2022, so you can pick a time over the next three months to start your six-month membership.

Bottom line

It's great to see American Express back with a bunch of new offers at popular merchants — in addition to previously-announced trial memberships for select services.

As with any Amex Offer, you'll want to read the terms and restrictions to ensure your purchase will trigger the statement credit or bonus points — such as in-store purchases versus online transactions. Some offers also require you to meet the minimum requirement in a single purchase, while others allow you to meet that same threshold from multiple swipes of the card.

Also, you'll only be able to add the offer once per account, even if the offer shows up on multiple Amex credit cards. In other words, before you save the offer, make sure you enroll with the card that you'll end up using to make that purchase.

Finally, you'll want to enroll for the offers as soon as possible. Enrollments are limited, and offers might disappear before the expiration date. However, as long as you are enrolled, you'll be eligible for the offer up until that date.
