$200 off United Polaris business-class flights to London

United Airlines is running a targeted, limited-time promotion where you can receive a $200 discount on one-way and round-trip United-operated business-class flights between the United States and London if you book by May 10 and travel by May 31.

How to book: In order to book, targeted MileagePlus members should have already received an email. This promotion is only available to MileagePlus members who are targeted. In our tests, we found that three Premier 1K members were not targeted, but one Premier Gold and one Premier Silver member were targeted. If you aren't targeted, you'll see this error message.

The easiest way to check if you're eligible for the discount and book is by visiting this link and then clicking on "Book now." You'll want to make sure that you're signed in to your MileagePlus account before searching for flights.

By clicking on the promotion landing page, the promotion code "FLYLIKEROYALTY" will already be applied. Alternatively, you can go to United's homepage and select "Advanced search."

On the next page, you'll want to scroll down to "Promotions and certificates" and enter code "FLYLIKEROYALTY."

You'll see the flights available and "Special offer" under the business-class fares.

Flights from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) have the lowest fares of all United's flights to London, starting at $2,074.07 for a round-trip flight.

Comparatively, without the discount, the fare is $200 more.

Keep in mind that you'll earn only based on your airfare and the amount that you spend. So in this case, a Premier Silver member would earn a total of 1,700 Premier qualifying points and 11,900 miles with the discount or 1,900 PQPs and 13,300 miles without the discount.

Bottom line

We're happy to see that United is offering a $200 discount (up to almost 10% on the most discounted flights) on its Polaris business-class flights to London through the end of the month. United may not be seeing the business-class pickup that they were hoping for on their London expansion, so this is a way to incentivize more customers to book what may otherwise be empty seats.

Mid- and lower-tier elite members seem to be most targeted for this offer. If you plan to use it, make sure to book by May 10, which is the last day to receive the discount.
