It’s not too early to start thinking about 2025 travel, and personally, I’m looking to do an extended month abroad with Dean in April. As much as Dean and I love traveling — we’ve been to 16 countries in the last two years — I want to spend an extended amount of time and immerse myself in a destination and avoid moving from hotel to hotel, which can be exhausting with a child.
Morocco: I visited once in 2008 before I became a frequent world traveler, and it was beautiful, but I was a bit overwhelmed. So I’m excited to go back and see it now. Morocco has become one of the luxury hotel capitals of the world. La Mamounia in Marrakech is high on my list; I can book through American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts since it’s not part of a traditional points program. There’s also a new Park Hyatt there, too.
Namibia: I love Africa but have still not been to Namibia. I want to see its amazing landscapes, and now that I know Dean will do well on a safari, this is high on my list.
A few more key destinations on my list that I will try and work in sometime this next year are Alaska, Machu Picchu and Antarctica. I’m not one of those people who feels the need to check everything off the list at once, so I’ll visit each destination when the time is right.
