Yesterday, Chase launched a huge limited-time offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card that we’ve only ever seen twice before, and it’s safe to say that we’re over-the-moon thrilled it is back.
Limited-time offer: Earn 100,000 bonus points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
Since this is arguably the hottest personal card offer we’ve seen in 2026, let’s unpack what you need to know — and answer some of the most-asked questions.
Just how good is the 100k-point Chase Sapphire Preferred offer?
TPG currently values 100,000 Chase points at $2,050 when transferred to hotel and airline partners (according to June 2026 valuations). That’s an exceptional return for a card that carries just a $95 annual fee. No “coupon book” mentality required.
For context, the card recently offered 75,000 bonus points. By TPG’s valuations, this limited-time offer is worth more than $500 extra compared to the standard bonus.
It’s the kind of deal I wholeheartedly recommend to just about anyone I know, and we’ve seen this be “the offer” that really helps people understand the power of points and miles, letting them travel much more for much less.
Who can get the Sapphire Preferred offer?
Great news! Earlier this year, Chase changed the eligibility rules for the Sapphire cards, so having a Chase Sapphire Reserve® no longer disqualifies you from having a Sapphire Preferred.
But do keep in mind:
- The Chase 5/24 rule (explained here) still applies
- You’ll likely need a good credit score
- If you’ve had the Sapphire Preferred before, the rules say you cannot get the welcome bonus again
How can you use 100,000 Chase points?
People love the 100,000 point Sapphire Preferred offer because there are so many ways to use the points, such as:
What just changed on the Sapphire Preferred?
Chase just refreshed the Sapphire Preferred, and it now comes with up to $100 in annual hotel credits through Chase Travel℠ and a TSA PreCheck/Global Entry application credit, which more than offset the card’s $95 annual fee.
Chase also expanded its 3 points per dollar earning categories to include gas stations, EV chargers and vacation home rentals.
Another notable change is that, for new cardholders, transfers to Hyatt now occur at a 4:3 ratio rather than 1:1. (This kicks in October 1 for existing cardholders.) However, if you also have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can still access the 1:1 transfer ratio if that’s a priority for you.
If you’re looking for a flexible travel rewards card with a low $95 annual fee, the Sapphire Preferred remains one of my favorite cards to recommend. There’s a reason it has won TPG’s Best Travel Rewards Card award for the last eight years — and getting it with the increased 100,000 point offer is an outstanding deal we don’t want you to miss!
