You probably know about the limited-time, best-ever public offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve®: Right now, new cardholders earn an amazing 150,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
While that epic welcome bonus is certainly a selling point, here are four other reasons why I think this card is so valuable:
An excellent roster of valuable transfer partners. I love transferring my Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Air France-KLM’s Flying Blue and Air Canada Aeroplan to book lie-flat business-class flights to Europe from just 60,000 Chase points each way, and World of Hyatt remains my favorite hotel transfer partner for any credit card currency.
Airport perks both at home and abroad. The up to $120 credit towards Global Entry, NEXUS or TSA PreCheck included every four years has saved me so much time passing through security and immigration after an international flight, when the last thing I feel like doing is waiting in line. The ever-growing Chase Sapphire lounge network is also a luxurious place to wait for my next flight.
Stackable hotel credits to save time and money. If hotel stays are more your goal than flights, you’ll enjoy luxury stays for less. There’s a $300 annual travel credit, one of the easiest credits to use across any premium card (you can spend it on nearly every travel-related expense), as well as two up-to-$250 credits per calendar year for prepaid stays of two nights or more for The Edit, Chase’s curated hotel booking platform. Oh, and don’t forget, cardholders receive complimentary IHG One Platinum Elite status (through Dec. 31, 2027).
I’ll recoup the annual fee quickly. I appreciate the card’s $795 annual fee is high, but this doesn’t worry me as if I combine the $300 travel credit, $500 The Edit credit, two up-to-$150 biannual Open Table credits and two up-to-$150 biannual StubHub/Viagogo credits through Dec. 31, 2027; activation required, I can easily save over $1,000 on travel, dining and entertainment that I was going to spend anyway.
There are far too many benefits to list here, but you can read our full review of the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. The bottom line is that the value doesn’t end at the amazing 150,000 Ultimate Rewards points welcome bonus; the perks keep coming every time you travel, so there’s never been a better time to add this incredible product to your wallet.
