Last week, online rumors about changes to World of Hyatt took the world of points and miles by storm. But they all turned out to be fake, which is exactly why TPG decided to stay quiet on the subject.
There will still be eight World of Hyatt categories, but, for the most part, these changes will result in redemption rates 50%-60% higher than before for some luxury properties.
There is some good news with the changes: Many lower-tier, less-popular dates might actually save you a few points compared to the past; certain elite members and World of Hyatt Credit Card members will have early access to award booking; and Hyatt is making it even easier to share Milestone Rewards and points with other members.
Luckily, these changes will slowly start to roll out in May, so there’s still time to lock in reservations at current rates. It’s also a good reminder that points and miles can be devalued at any time, so don’t hold on to them for too long.
