Welcome to 2026! If you’re trying to figure out where to travel this year, I’m here to offer some inspiration. There are several new nonstop destinations that U.S. airlines are adding to their repertoire in the new year — and each is a place your airline miles or credit card points can take you.
Last year, Delta Air Lines let its SkyMiles members vote on the airline’s next destination in Europe. In the end, Delta decided to fly to two different Mediterranean islands, perfect for a luxury summer getaway.
Alaska Airlines miles have long been a great way to book flights to Europe on partners. But starting this year, you can redeem Atmos Rewards points on Alaska’s own planes — which will fly across the Atlantic to two European cities for the first time this spring.
But before all of that, Southwest Airlines will launch its first new destination in (checks notes) five years — and it’s a popular Caribbean beach spot. Plus, it’ll connect the U.S. mainland to a new Hawaiian city starting this summer.
