If you’re an American Airlines loyalist like me (and a few other TPGers), you are probably planning out all your final trips, spending and ways to requalify for elite status before the qualifying year ends Feb. 28.
There’s a lot of news wrapped up in today’s program announcement — including what it takes to qualify for elite status, new Loyalty Point Reward choices and that 2026 is the centennial year for American Airlines. As of March 1, elite members can request a limited-edition commemorative luggage tag to mark the 100th anniversary.
I’m not sure I will retain Executive Platinum status this year, but I did just get AA’s newest cobranded credit card — the Citi® / AAdvantage® Globe™ Mastercard® — which provides a Loyalty Points boost after each four flight segments flown (up to three times per year). So wish me luck! I’ve got a few trips planned over the next few weeks.
