As a frequent American Airlines flyer, I’m always on the lookout for cheap award flights and sweet spots to maximize my miles.
The AAdvantage program is a fantastic choice for American loyalists, but did you know there’s another — sometimes even better — way to book award tickets on American?
For example, this year I could’ve booked a short-haul economy flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) for as few as 5,000 AAdvantage miles, but I snagged the same award seat for just 4,500 Atmos Rewards points.
Here are a few more examples I’ve found of cheaper American economy award availability through Atmos Rewards:
Miami International Airport (MIA) to Mexico City International Airport (MEX): 8,000 AAdvantage miles or 7,500 Atmos Rewards points
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL): 20,000 AAdvantage miles or 17,500 Atmos Rewards points
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Dublin Airport (DUB): 27,000 AAdvantage miles or 22,500 Atmos Rewards points
