I’ve had Global Entry for over 11 years now, and am always grateful I don’t have to wait in the long immigration lines I often see when returning to the U.S. Instead, I usually only spend a minute or two in the immigration hall by using the kiosk.
Although I’ve had Global Entry for many years, I’ve never personally paid the $120 application fee for a five-year membership. Instead, I’ve always paid my application fee with a card that offers a statement credit for a Global Entry application fee.
Even if you don’t travel internationally frequently, it may still be worth applying for Global Entry instead of TSA PreCheck if your card offers a statement credit that would cover either application fee. After all, Global Entry members also receive TSA PreCheck, which unlocks shorter security lines at most U.S. airports.
