One way, as you might expect, is to look for ultraluxury properties on peak travel dates that can be booked for a reasonable number of hotel points. For example, the Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo Del Sol can be booked for 35,000-45,000 Hyatt points per night. With cash rates regularly exceeding $1,000 per night (and no resort fees on Hyatt award stays), this is an easy way to get terrific value from your Hyatt points (and World of Hyatt is one of our favorite Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer partners).
But we wouldn’t recommend spending 3 million points on just one night in the Maldives. A better option would be to redeem 120,000 IHG One Rewards points for a night at the luxurious Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection, which opened in December. This would save you $1,300 per night on peak dates like New Year’s Eve and provide more than double our June 2025 valuation of IHG points.
The W Las Vegas has room rates this summer consistently around $200 per night, and while cash rates aren’t going to break the bank, you can book a king premier suite for as little as 12,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night on many dates. That’s a terrific way to redeem these hotel points and get well over our valuation of 0.7 cents each for Bonvoy points.
So, next time you’re looking to redeem hotel points for great value, go as low or as high as you can when selecting the property.
