We’ve already heard from multiple disappointed folks who missed out on the increased Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card bonus that ended Monday, and by this time tomorrow, the 100,000-point Sapphire Preferred offer will be gone, too. So, if you don’t want to miss out on the largest bonus in four years, now is your final chance to apply.
With that absolute last call out of the way … After years of anticipation, they’re finally here: United Airlines’ new Polaris cabins have officially been unveiled.
The upgrades start with the introduction of the Polaris Studio, an all-new business-class-plus seat in the bulkhead with 25% more space than the rest of the business-class seats. It also includes a buddy seat, a 27-inch TV, sliding doors, and special amenities including caviar service and specially branded PJs.
The next-generation “regular” Polaris seats are a very impressive upgrade with sliding doors, massive 4K TVs, Bluetooth support, a walk-up snack bar, and an alternating configuration with some seats facing the aisle and others facing the window. Better yet, some of the center seats can be converted into a pseudo double bed.
There are even some tech upgrades coming to premium economy, which United calls Premium Plus, and economy, including larger TVs with Bluetooth support.
This comes as airlines worldwide have been doubling down on premium, with new cabins cropping up on American Airlines, Etihad Airways and now United. All in all, it’s an exciting time to be flying in business class — let’s just hope there are more mileage redemptions available when the seats are introduced!
