Happy Sunday, and “May the 4th be with you” (sorry, I couldn’t avoid a little “Star Wars” joke).
It was a big week for aviation news, so let’s jump right in.
United Airlines tightened entry rules for its network of United Club lounges to cull airport lounge overcrowding, and American Airlines lessened the amount of time users can put award tickets on hold.
Southwest Airlines continued its seemingly endless slew of changes by announcing new names for all its fare classes and seat-selection perks for credit card holders.
In the world of airline route shake-ups, American is adding seven new routes at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD), while United is cutting service to Tenerife, Spain, but plans to add two new long-haul routes later this year.
Don’t forget, if you have any upcoming travels, the Real ID deadline is coming up this week. If you don’t yet have a Real ID, TPG has you covered with acceptable alternative forms of identification, but you probably want to get your hands on a Real ID as soon as possible.
