The more you travel, the more you figure out the little things that can make your trips less stressful and more comfortable.
For example, I’ve started carrying a few lightweight plastic bag clips with me. Sure, they’re great for their intended purpose of closing a bag of partially eaten food. But they’re also excellent for clipping curtains closed in hotel rooms.
TPG managing editor and frequent traveler extraordinaire Clint Henderson recently compiled a must-read list of frequent flyer travel hacks from staffers and readers. Even though I flew 211,648 miles across 108 flights in 2024, I still picked up a few new ideas reading his article.
Remember: As you pack for a trip, you have to balance the desire to pack comfort and convenience items with the goal of packing efficiently — especially if you’re traveling with only a carry-on suitcase. For example, while I may not need to pack a reusable shopping bag, I frequently do. It’s light, I can use it for many things and it keeps me from having to buy a new bag when I go grocery shopping at my destination.
