Know what’s available. For starters, research which lounges are available at the relevant airport, and whether you already have access. You can usually get access by paying for certain fare types, having elite status with the airline or having certain credit cards that provide this benefit. If you come up short in all of those areas, in many cases you can still pay to get inside.
Know the lounge’s policies. Check the lounge’s hours, guest policies and which amenities are complimentary. These details also vary by location.
Watch the clock. Give yourself enough time to enjoy the lounge, but keep your eyes on the clock, too. You don’t want to lose track of time and risk missing your boarding time. Some lounges let you book your spot in advance, which can help you carve out a set window of time to spend there.
Sign up for cool amenities when you arrive. Some lounges offer massages, time in the shower or even nap rooms — but it’s often first-come, first-served, so don’t miss out on something cool because you waited to get on the list.
