It started with a big bang when Chase opened its flagship Sapphire Lounge by The Club at New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). The two-story space, which measures just over 21,000 square feet, is as visually appealing as it is entertaining. Once inside, you can enjoy free facials, a retro arcade, wellness areas and much more.
Better yet, the space is even home to a lounge-within-a-lounge concept dubbed the Reserve Suites — private rooms with butler service and fancy restaurant-style dining.
At long last, Delta Air Lines joined the pack by opening its hotly anticipated business-class-only lounge network. The carrier started with a stunning space at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), which measures nearly 40,000 square feet, and quickly followed with the opening of spaces in Los Angeles and Boston, the latter of which feels more like a sophisticated restaurant than an airport lounge.
The roundup wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Alaska Airlines’ new outpost at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). It measures 11,000 square feet and is designed with the carrier’s latest motifs.
With so many exciting spaces, it’s probably no surprise that lounges got even more crowded this year. The silver lining, however, is that many waitlists are now handled virtually, allowing you to join the line before you even step foot near the lounge.
Stay tuned as we bring you more great lounge openings in 2025.
