One of the best ways to secure high-value award redemptions for the flights and hotel nights you want is to have access to multiple types of transferable currencies.
One transferable currency that doesn’t get enough appreciation is Citi ThankYou Rewards points. To earn Citi ThankYou points that you can transfer to all of the Citi transfer partners at the best rates, you’ll need a premium Citi ThankYou card.
Only three cards earn full-fledged ThankYou points, and the best currently available option is the $95-annual-fee Citi Strata Premier℠ Card (see rates and fees).
The Citi Strata Premier currently has a limited-time welcome offer of 75,000 bonus points after you spend $4,000 in the first three months from account opening. Based on the value you could get when transferring these points to the Citi ThankYou transfer partners, according to TPG’s November 2024 valuations, this offer is worth $1,350.
This card offers:
10 points per dollar spent on hotels, car rentals and attractions booked through the Citi Travel portal
3 points per dollar spent on air travel, other hotel purchases, restaurants, supermarkets, gas stations and EV charging stations
1 point per dollar spent on other purchases
You can transfer Citi ThankYou points to 15 airline loyalty programs and five hotel loyalty programs, including JetBlue TrueBlue, Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Choice Privileges.
