There are a handful of cards that provide at least $1,000 in first-year value, but believe it or not, some go even higher and provide over $1,500 in first-year value between the welcome bonus and card benefits.
Thanks to a variety of big welcome bonuses and some limited-time offers, here are three cards with bonuses so big they are worth more than $1,500!
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express: Based on TPG valuations, this card provides a whopping $3,000 in first-year value just from its current elevated welcome bonus alone. In addition, it offers up to $200 in annual statement credit for airline incidental fees, a statement credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck, and Gold elite status with both Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors (enrollment required).
- Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card: With a bonus of 100,000 very valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards points with $8,000 in spending in the first three months of account opening, you can get $2,050 in value just from the welcome bonus according to TPG’s valuations. The annual fee is only $95. And don’t get scared off because it’s a business card — here are tips for getting business cards.
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card: This card offers a limited-time welcome bonus of 75,000 points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening. This card, with a $95 annual fee, offers over $1,500 in value via the welcome bonus. In fact, according to TPG valuations, the welcome bonus is worth $1,538.
It’s pretty incredible to get over $1,500 in value from one credit card bonus, and this list is just a starting point for what’s out there. For example, the new Avianca card’s bonus can also be worth over $1,500 if you earn the full 100,000 miles. If you want to get serious about traveling more for less, there’s no faster way than by hopping on one of these great offers while they are hot.
