That was the theme yesterday in Los Angeles, where United turned its hangar at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) into a glam show-and-tell for its latest planes and seats.
On display: the most premium wide-body plane yet to fly for United. A contender for the fanciest regional jet in America. And a seating mock-up for United’s “Coastliner” service.
And, in a surprise announcement, United unveiled its “Relax Row” — a row of economy seats that can convert into a couchlike lie-flat bed — that will debut on wide-body planes beginning in 2027.
Elsewhere, surging wait times at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints continue to make headlines this week. There were signs of hope, however, as reports emerged suggesting that a compromise to end the impasse might be in the works.
