TPG reader Joseph tweeted me with a more personal question:

"@ThePointsGuy — "What's your favorite aircraft and why?"

I love this Boeing 747-8.

I've been a Boeing 747 guy my whole life. I think they're majestic, and the whole upper deck aspect is very visually appealing to me. I flew the new 747-8 on Lufthansa in the very nose of the plane in first class this past summer and it was wonderful. Lufthansa has a gorgeous product and it was a great experience.

Enjoying a snack on the 747-8, perhaps my favorite plane!

That being said, I think I'm slowly becoming an Airbus A380 guy, too. I just flew Emirates for the second time in first class on the A380 home from Milan to New York. Even though the plane is gigantic and looks kind of like a Moray eel, it's a very smooth and quiet ride.

Second place goes to the A380, which I recently flew on Emirates from Milan to New York.

Plus, the tech is cool, like the camera view from the aircraft's tail (though that could just be Emirates technology). Stay tuned for my review of this flight.

I'll be trying out the Etihad A380 later in 2015, but until then, Boeing wins! Feel free to share your own favorite aircraft in the comments below.
