1,000 Free AAdvantage Miles for First 20,000 People Only

Update: This appears to be dead.. I'm still going to keep an eye on it to see if they open it up to more contestants given the popularity of the promotion. Feel free to Tweet @AAdvantage and let them know you weren't happy about the buggy site and super limited time the promotion was available. I have no idea why they'd email so many people for such a limited promotion- seems like a waste of time to me!

Update 2: I Tweeted @AAdvantage and they Tweeted right back that there are technical difficulties: "@AAdvantage: @thepointsguy Sorry for the inconvenience Brian! Our developers are aware of an issue and are working on a fix." Stay tuned..seems like this may be re-opened at some point.

Update 3: The game seems to be working and it confirmed I got the 1,000 free miles as of 3:25pm EST. Score!

I just got this email (see image below) from American Airlines with a link to play an online "hidden object game" called "Find the Emerald" that takes you through the benefits of Oneworld's elite status levels and to earn 1,000 AAdvantage miles and register for a chance to win two business class tickets around the world on Oneworld alliance partners. The site was loading slow for me, so you might want to try going directly to the game with this link.

The chance to earn the miles and business class tickets is limited to the first 20,000 registrants only. I know the email was sent to me as an Executive Platinum member, and I'm not sure if only Exec Plats get the chance to play, but you might as well try, so hurry up and play at this link now!
