Hyatt and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas plan loyalty partnership
World of Hyatt fans will soon have a major new option for earning and burning points in Sin City.
Hyatt and The Venetian Resort Las Vegas are entering into a long-term licensing agreement that will put The Venetian and The Palazzo on Hyatt booking channels and the World of Hyatt loyalty program.
World of Hyatt members will eventually be able to earn and redeem points at both properties, earn credit toward the Brand Explorer Award and enjoy on-property benefits for World of Hyatt elite members. The partnership also means Venetian Rewards members will enjoy World of Hyatt benefits in the future, but details of the loyalty linkage aren't yet public. A specific timeline on the integration also wasn't provided.
The move is a return to the Las Vegas Strip for Hyatt after the company and MGM Resorts ended their loyalty partnership last year amid MGM's new ties with Marriott. Hyatt's biggest Las Vegas presence since has been at the off-Strip Rio Hotel & Casino, which is part of the Destination by Hyatt brand.
IHG Hotels & Resorts has had a partnership with The Venetian, but that deal is expected to end at the end of this year. TPG speculated earlier this year the IHG-Venetian breakup presented an opportunity for Hyatt to return to the Las Vegas Strip in a major way.
"Las Vegas is a perennial favorite for World of Hyatt members and our group business customers are requesting rooms at a higher volume than pre-pandemic due to the world-class entertainment and unique experiences offered by this dynamic destination," Mark Vondrasek, Hyatt's chief commercial officer, said in a statement "The licensing agreement with The Venetian Resort Las Vegas adds 7,000 rooms and 2.25 million square feet of meeting space, inviting Hyatt's loyalty members and valued customers to have even more options to earn and redeem loyalty points when visiting Las Vegas."
The Venetian recently completed a $1.5 billion renovation to its suites that are meant to be a reflection of the Venetian Carnival. The combined Venetian-Palazzo complex is the only all-suite resort on the Strip and is a highly popular destination thanks to its shopping and dining centered around a replica of the canals of Venice — complete with gondola rides. The complex is also home to the Sphere at The Venetian, the new and arguably the most buzzed-about concert venue in the country.
"Our legendary resort continues to lead the way on the Strip, setting the benchmark for innovation, luxury, and unforgettable guest experiences," Patrick Nichols, president and CEO of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, said in a statement. "From unveiling reimagined suites and collaborating with world-renowned chefs to delivering unparalleled entertainment, we have consistently stayed at the forefront of this ever-evolving destination. As we embrace a new era for The Venetian Resort, this relationship enables us to expand our reach and connect with new audiences."
