Frontier Airlines Wants You to Earn Triple Miles on Flights (and De-Stress)
What is that time period that falls after the week of Thanksgiving but before school gets out for Christmas Break? Families likely call it the absolutely busiest time of the year with events, performances, plays, concerts, parties, decorating and other festive commitments absolutely stuffing an already busy holiday season schedule. But, Frontier Airlines calls that time period something a bit different. They call it a good time for No-Stress-Tivus. Which, from what I can gather, is what they call a trip you take during early December to get away from all the holiday stress and just breathe for a minute.
More important than what they call it, via the Frontier No-Stress-Tivus promotion (and giveaway), you can register to earn 3x miles for Frontier Airlines flights taken from Nov. 29 - Dec. 15. That between time period situation between two peak holiday travel events is traditionally a slower time for airlines as business travel is wrapping up for the year and leisure travel is largely on hiatus between holiday breaks. What better time for a bonus miles promotion than a normally slow travel time-frame?
The terms for this promo state that the triple miles earned are elite qualifying, which is not bad considering that Frontier still awards elite qualifying miles based on miles flown and overhauled its elite program this year to convey some pretty solid perks. This is especially true at the 50k level and above where some benefits convey to the whole family of up to eight people traveling on the same reservation.
While Frontier Airlines is an ultra low-cost carrier that charges extra for most things, they did recently walk back change fees and are continuing to push to become a more family-friendly budget airline.
