Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

Right now, Icelandair has cheap fares from the East and West Coast to Europe — with departures available from October through February 2019. You can fly from New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS), Washington DC (IAD), and San Francisco (SFO) to Paris (CDG), Amsterdam (AMS), and London (LGW) starting at just $315 round-trip.

This deal is pretty enticing for those who are looking to finish off their fall season with a bang by traveling to one of these popular European destinations. Icelandair has a solid economy product, but beware that it now charges for checked bags.

To book, simply scroll through dates on Google Flights to find the cheapest time to travel. Once you’ve selected flights that you like (watch out for ones with ultra-long layovers) you can book through Orbitz, Expedia or directly through Icelandair.
