American Express has been on a roll with customer experience improvements recently. In June, they unveiled a tool to determine users' eligibility for welcome bonuses before a hard-inquiry was performed on their credit report.

Now, cardholders are reportedly receiving emails that tracks their progress toward meeting a new credit card's minimum spend requirement.

The example on Doctor of Credit showed an The Amex EveryDay® Credit Card from American Express, which had a $2,000 minimum spend requirement, and a quarter-filled bar showing that the account holder had spent $628 so far.

DOC readers reported that the bar in the email updates over time — meaning you can go back to the same email and continually track your progress.

If you have a new Citi or Wells Fargo credit card, you can track your minimum spend progress by logging into your online account with the respective banks. These tools help relieve some stress when trying to figure out how close you are to reaching those sweet, sweet bonus points or cash back.

We've reached out to Amex to see if this is a systemwide change or just a test. We've yet to hear back by time of publication.
