Avis is offering 7,500 Club Carlson Gold points and a 25% discount to members on qualifying car rentals of 3 or more days at participating locations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East from now through December 31, 2013 – giving Club Carlson members over a year to score bonus after bonus.
Make your reservation here and use coupon # MUHA018 and present your Club Carlson number at the time of reservation or at the rental counter to earn your bonus points. This offer is in addition to your everyday savings of up to 25% when you use AWD # G639300.
The bonus points from this promo are in addition to the normal 750 base points you would normally receive with a car rental. Remember to provide your Club Carlson number at the time of reservation or rental, and advance reservations are required and the rental must begin by December 31, 2013.

I'm not quite as excited about this offer as the one from Avis over the summer where you could earn up to 5,000 American miles plus discounts – especially because there are no spending bonuses through Ultimate Rewards on Avis car rentals (though there are on Budget and Hertz) right now.
Still, I won't turn down free points, and I'll consider this promo with my upcoming rentals since Carlson award nights start at 9,000 points, and perhaps more interestingly, with Club Carlson's Points + Cash redemptions, I could snag a night at a Category 6 property like a Radisson Blu in Europe for just 15,000 points plus cash. That's only 2 rentals away with this promo. Granted, I'd need to see what the cash portion of the award was since it varies and then calculate the value of my points, but it's definitely an option to consider.
