How to earn up to 6 free nights with Hyatt Brand Explorer

The Hyatt Brand Explorer promotion lets World of Hyatt members unlock free nights by staying with different Hyatt brands. Specifically, you can earn a Category 1-4 free night award every time you stay on a qualifying rate at five unique Hyatt brands. Since there are currently 30 eligible brands, you can earn up to six free nights through Hyatt Brand Explorer.

World of Hyatt Brand Explorer overview

The primary goal of the Hyatt Brand Explorer program is to incentivize World of Hyatt members to try out different brands in the Hyatt portfolio.

All World of Hyatt members can enjoy this benefit — you don't need Hyatt elite status or a specific credit card. There's no additional registration required or published end date. The promotion runs over your account's lifetime, so you can take your time to visit different brands and earn free night awards.

Qualifying stays, including eligible paid stays and World of Hyatt redemptions, count toward the Brand Explorer promotion if the property participates in World of Hyatt during the stay. Guests only need to stay one night at each brand, and there's no minimum spending requirement. However, stays booked through third parties like Expedia don't count toward Hyatt Brand Explorer.

Tracking your Brand Explorer progress

Tracking your progress with the Hyatt Brand Explorer program is straightforward. To view the number of brands you have stayed at, log into your World of Hyatt account online and click "Brand Explorer" on the left navigation bar under the "My account" section.

Once you do so, you'll see your Brand Explorer progress. You'll see how many awards you've earned and how many more unique brands you need to try before you earn a new award. The brands you've tried are colored in and denoted with a check mark.

Redeeming Hyatt Brand Explorer free nights

Once you have stayed at five different Hyatt brands, you will automatically receive a Category 1-4 free night certificate. Upon earning the certificate, you will receive an email confirmation, and the certificate will appear under the "Awards" tab in your World of Hyatt account. Brand Explorer Category 1-4 certificates are valid for one year, by which you must have completed your stay (not just booked your stay).

To redeem your certificate for a one-night stay, search for a hotel with the "Use Points" option selected. As Category 1-4 free night certificates are exclusively valid for Category 1, 2, 3 and 4 properties, you'll need to search for properties that meet this criterion. Once you have selected a hotel, you'll see "free night" if you can use a free night certificate.

You can also use your free night certificate to cover one night of a longer stay that you book using Hyatt's Pay My Way feature.

When possible, try to redeem Category 1-4 certificates when nightly rates are over $300 at Category 4 properties. Hyatt waives destination and resort fees when you redeem points or free night certificates at most hotels. Also, if you're a World of Hyatt Globalist member, parking is comped when you redeem points or free night certificates.
