5 credit cards that save you money on streaming subscriptions
Editor's Note
Keeping up with your favorite music and TV shows can add up. So you may wonder whether it’s worth keeping every streaming subscription.
But you don’t need to sit on the couch in silence to save money. Several of our favorite credit cards come with streaming credits that allow you to keep the entertainment you love and save money.
In this guide, we'll walk you through which credit cards give you credits for streaming subscriptions and how to use these credits for entertainment at home and on the go.
American Express Platinum Card® — Find out your offer: You may be eligible for as high as 175,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $8,000 in eligible purchases on your new card in your first six months of membership. Welcome offers vary, and you may not be eligible for an offer.
American Express Platinum
The American Express Platinum Card® offers a long list of statement credits to its cardmembers, including up to $300 each calendar year (earned as up to $25 each month) in digital entertainment statement credits (enrollment required).

Streaming benefit: Up to $25 per month in digital entertainment statement credits (up to $300 in statement credits each calendar year). The credits can be used so long as you pay the following merchants directly and on a monthly basis:
- Disney+
- ESPN+
- Hulu
- The Disney+ Bundle (includes all three services above or a combination thereof)
- Paramount+
- Peacock
- The New York Times
- The Wall Street Journal
- YouTube Premium
- YouTube TV
You’ll pay first and then receive reimbursement within two days, on average (enrollment required).
With this card, you can effectively get a complimentary Paramount+ or Peacock subscription. The Platinum offers up to $12.95 (plus applicable taxes) in monthly statement credits for a Walmart+ membership (enrollment required).
And as a Walmart+ member, you’ll receive a complimentary ad-supported subscription to either Paramount+ or Peacock. (You can switch between providers every 90 days.) So, it only makes sense to use your digital entertainment credit if you want to upgrade to an ad-free plan with these providers.

Maximize your rewards on streaming services
For the streaming platforms where you don’t receive a credit or complimentary subscription, make sure you’re still earning solid rewards for your spending. Several top cards provide elevated return rates on eligible streaming purchases, helping you get more value every month.
Some of the best cards to earn rewards on streaming services include:
- American Express Blue Cash Preferred: 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions.
- Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card: 3% cash back on popular streaming platforms.
- Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees): 3 points per dollar on select streaming services.

If a particular service isn’t covered by a dedicated streaming credit, charging it to one of these cards can ensure you’re still earning valuable rewards for every binge-watching session.
Check the merchant offers on your cards
In addition to using these cards for streaming, make sure to check the merchant offers for all your cards regularly. American Express and Chase often have offers to help you save on specific streaming services, such as Fubo, Max, Showtime and YouTube TV.
To take advantage of these offers, add them to your card and then charge that streaming service to the card with the offer.
Bottom line
If you’re a big fan of streaming services like we are, opening a card that provides a streaming credit makes sense. No matter how you stream, there’s a credit card perk on this list that can help you save on your streaming costs.
But before you apply for a card, make sure that the benefits it provides make it worth the annual fee (if one is charged).
