Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.

There's no question that Dubai is one of the most opulent and extravagant destinations in the world. While accommodations in the city could cost you an arm and a leg, the flights there don't need to. Turkish Airlines is currently offering discounted fares to Dubai (DXB) from Boston (BOS), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Chicago (ORD) and San Francisco (SFO) from $689 round-trip. You'll never run out of things to do in Dubai, but if you want a more relaxing experience, you might want to consider getting out of the city and spend a couple of nights at Starwood’s luxurious Al Maha.

Use Google Flights to search for your preferred departure and destination and then book directly through Turkish Airlines or with an OTA such as Expedia or Priceline.

How we chose these cards

Our points-obsessed staff uses a plethora of credit cards on a daily basis. If anyone on our team wouldn’t recommend it to a friend or a family member, we wouldn’t recommend it on The Points Guy either. Our opinions are our own, and have not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by our advertising partners.
