Update: The current sign-up bonus for the Amtrak Guest Rewards World MasterCard is 12,000 points after spending $500 in the first 3 months, 2 points per dollar spent on Amtrak, and one point per dollar on everything else.

Amtrak Guest Rewards launched a little promo where members who link their Facebook accounts to their Amtrak Guest Rewards accounts will earn a 100-point bonus.

The linking process is designed to give Guest Rewards members direct access to their account via Facebook, as well as to personalize offers and content based on their FB page and the opportunity to participate in future offers via Facebook.

If you don't yet have an Amtrak Guest Rewards account, you can enroll here. Then you just need to connect your accounts by November 3, 2012, by 11:59pm Central Time by going to the promo page and clicking on "Connect Accounts."

That will prompt a pop-up where you can choose who can see Amtrak content on your Facebook page (set it to "only me" if you don't want to annoy your friends). Then you click the login button and you will be taken to your Amtrak Guest Rewards and should see the bonus points posted immediately.

Points should post immediately after linking accounts.

100 Amtrak points isn't a huge amount, but it's the minimum number of points you earn on an Amtrak ticket, and is equivalent to paying a $50 fare. Besides the Northeast, where awards start at 4,000 points, other awards based on Amtrak's zone map start at 5,500 points, so you've got a ways to go, but remember that Amtrak is a partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards, so you can also earn points by using your premium Chase cards like the Sapphire Preferred and the Ink Bold.
