Earn 125,000 bonus points with the current offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve
Editor's Note
The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) is a popular premium rewards card with loads of perks to maximize.
Plus, the card comes with a lucrative welcome bonus that allows cardholders to earn a large number of points upfront.
Chase Ultimate Rewards points are one of the most valuable rewards currencies on the market; TPG's August 2025 valuations place them at 2.05 cents per point.
The Sapphire Reserve carries a high $795 annual fee, but its long list of premium benefits still makes it a top option in the premium travel category.
Here's what to know about the Sapphire Reserve's current offer and perks.
Chase Sapphire Reserve current offer
New Sapphire Reserve applicants can earn 125,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening.
Per our August 2025 valuations, this bonus is worth up to $2,563.

A haul of 125,000 Chase points can unlock incredible trips, especially when you transfer these points to one of Chase's 14 loyalty program partners. You could fly in business class to Madrid on Iberia, book a round-trip business-class flight to Tokyo on All Nippon Airways or stay up to six off-peak nights at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa with this offer alone.
How does this compare to past offers?
In terms of points offering, this is the highest bonus we've seen in the card's history. The Sapphire Reserve — Chase's premium travel rewards card, now offers 50,000 more points in its welcome offer than that of the $95-annual-fee Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees), though the Sapphire Preferred has a slightly lower spending requirement of $5,000 in the first three months.
Application rules and restrictions
If you had been eyeing the Sapphire Reserve, but have previously refrained from applying because you hold another card in the Sapphire family, such as the Sapphire Preferred, we have good news: Chase allows cardholders to hold both Sapphire products at the same time.
It's important to note, however, that Chase has updated its terms on welcome offer eligibility. Before, you could earn a Sapphire welcome bonus every 48 months. Now, Chase has implemented new restrictions.
A Chase representative confirmed to TPG that, "Beginning June 23, 2025, you will be able to have both the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred cards. New account bonus offer eligibility for either card will be based on factors including previously earned bonus offers and the number of cards opened and closed, among others."
Even if it's been years since you received a welcome bonus on a particular Sapphire card, you almost certainly will not be eligible to earn another bonus on that same Sapphire card. Additionally, you may not be eligible for a Sapphire Reserve bonus if you're a current Sapphire Preferred cardholder.
This is a new restriction on bonus-earning within the Sapphire family, so keep this in mind before applying.

The new Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (see rates and fees) is not included in this rule, so you could earn the bonus on the business card and still receive a bonus on the personal Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Preferred.
