Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using the American Express Platinum Card, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
If you weren’t able to jump on Friday’s Cathay Pacific first class award availability, you’re in luck. There are some great economy flight deals popping up today from the both the US east and west coasts to Hong Kong on a variety of carriers, such as American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines and Xiamen, with prices starting as low as $379 round-trip.
The best way to search for these tickets is via Google Flights. Search your origin city and destination and scroll through the calendar function to find dates that work for you. Then, click through to book directly with the airline or an OTA, such as Expedia or Orbitz.
