SPG Moments are, by far, one of my favorite uses of Starpoints. With SPG Moments, you can redeem Starpoints for access to a variety of culinary, cultural, musical and sports-related experiences. In the past, for instance, I've gotten two VIP tickets to take my dad to a New York Knicks game, with special access to the SPG Luxury Suite at Madison Square Garden, among many other fun redemptions.
Now, you can (again) use your Starpoints with SPG Moments to see Adele live at Madison Square Garden in New York City — not to mention, you'll be watching the show from the SPG Luxury Suite. It's no secret that I love Adele. When she was in London, I saw her at The O2 Arena not once, but twice. For the first show, I sat in the SPG Suite — note, though, that The O2 Arena's SPG Suite is high up and we did not have the best view. But at MSG, the SPG Luxury Suite is basically floor seating and comes with great service, so it's a great redemption to see a one-of-a-kind talent like Adele up close.
Now that Adele's tour dates in New York City are just about a month away, SPG has released its redemption options for VIP tickets with SPG Luxury Suite access to her shows at Madison Square Garden on September 20, 22, 23 and 25. You can redeem 55,000 Starpoints — worth about $1,375 based on my most recent valuations — for two tickets to the show and access to the SPG Luxury Suite, where you'll get snacks and drinks, as well as the great service SPG is known for.
I've already got my two tickets to the show on September 25, and I'd love to see some readers there in the Suite with me! To be among the first to get tickets, visit the SPG Moments page and select the night you're interested in attending. Even if you can't make it to the same show as me on September 25, seeing Adele perform live is never a disappointment. Tickets online are going for around $250-$300 per night at the least expensive end of the spectrum and upwards of $2,000 apiece for floor seating, so this redemption could be well worth it, given the high demand for tickets.
The best way to increase your stash of Starpoints is to sign up for the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from American Express, which comes with a sign-up bonus of 25,000 Starpoints after you spend $3,000 within the first three months of opening your account. You'll earn 2x Starpoints on eligible purchases at SPG hotels (in addition to the 2 or 3 you'll earn for being an SPG member) and 1x points on all other purchases. If you frequently stay at SPG properties, signing up for the SPG Amex is the perfect way to start the year — you'll get five night credits and two stays each year toward elite status.
