Hi everyone,
As you may already know, I’m not a big fan of waiting in line (is anyone?). And now with two small children in tow, if there’s anything I can do to make my airport experience move faster and smoother, I’m doing it.
Enter Clear, which is a simple way — especially in combination with TSA PreCheck —to speed through airport security. In a world of constant unknowns and political drama, I’m doing everything I can (like having a Clear+ membership) to ensure I won’t be waiting in a 4-hour TSA line if government shutdowns affect TSA funding and staffing. Thanks to my membership, my two children can also use the Clear line with me for free — they don’t need their own memberships until they’re 18.
Trusted traveler programs have been adding new features in recent years to move passengers through security checkpoints faster. Clear launched a new VIP airport service in 2025 called Clear Concierge, which helps you move through the airport more quickly on departure (though you’ll need to be a Clear+ member to book it).
Even better news? Clear Concierge has just launched its new VIP arrival service, which makes landing and getting through the airport a breeze. Here’s what you need to know about the service, how to get Clear+ for free and how to save money on Clear Concierge services (hint: I’m offering a high-value deal to TPG readers).
Clear+ vs. Clear Concierge
Unlike programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry, Clear isn’t a government program. It’s a private company that uses biometrics to help get you through security faster at 60+ airports in the U.S.
My top tip is to pair Clear+ with TSA PreCheck and opt in to TSA Touchless ID for the fastest possible airport security experience, as Clear+ essentially moves you to the front of the TSA PreCheck line. And, if one of the services isn’t offered at a certain airport, having both services means you have options.
But, you can take it a step further and try Clear Concierge — Clear’s premium add-on service available to Clear+ members — that you must book before traveling (see below for a booking link and special offer). It started by offering VIP departure services, which include a Clear ambassador meeting you and your party (up to 5 passengers) curbside, assisting with bags and check-in (a lifesaver when you have small children), speeding you through security and taking you to your gate or to the lounge.
Clear Concierge’s newly launched arrival services
I’ve saved a lot of time and hassle using Clear Concierge’s departure services, which is why I was thrilled to hear they’d recently launched VIP arrival services at select airports. The service, which is available for up to eight people, greets you at your arrival gate upon landing, helps you with your luggage and takes you to your connecting flight or to baggage claim and ground transportation. This could be a lifesaver, especially for families or those exhausted after a red-eye flight.
How to get CLEAR+ for free (and a top deal on Clear Concierge)
Clear+ costs $219 per year, but many credit cards offer a statement credit for the service.
If you hold airline elite status, you might also be eligible to get Clear+ for free. The service partners with loyalty programs such as Delta SkyMiles, United MileagePlus, and Atmos Rewards to offer elite members discounts and, in certain cases, even free memberships.
