This card has been a staple in my wallet for years now.
While it has a lofty $895 annual fee (see rates and fees), I often get well over $1,500 in value out of it thanks to its combination of premium perks and lifestyle benefits.
Save on luxury hotels: My favorite perk is the biannual hotel statement credit of up to $300 on prepaid hotel bookings with your Platinum card through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection (which requires a stay of at least two nights).
I’ve gotten hundreds of dollars back on stays at the W in Edinburgh, the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan and — most recently — the gorgeous Grantley Hall estate (pictured above) in the English countryside.
Cash savings in your everyday life: Plus, the card is packed with lifestyle benefits that can offset your day-to-day spending. Just a few of the statement credits (enrollment required) you can receive when paying with your Platinum card include:
Up to $75 per quarter on Lululemon purchases online or in U.S. stores (excluding outlets).
Up to $25 per month back on certain digital entertainment subscriptions like Disney Plus, Hulu and the New York Times.
Don’t forget about lounges: The airport access is just a deal-sweetener, for me: It gets me into Amex’s Centurion Lounges, along with a host of other clubs, globally.
Check your eligibility and see if you qualify for an offer as high as 175,000 Membership Rewards points on the American Express Platinum Card.
