First off, I get access to airline programs like Air Canada Aeroplan, Virgin Atlantic, Avios and Air France-KLM Flying Blue, any of which are great places to reliably find sweet-spot award fares. I’m talking about redemptions like:
Economy seats to the UK on Virgin Atlantic from just 6,000 points or lie-flat business class starting at just 29,000 points each way (plus taxes and fees)
Premium economy seats on Air France or KLM to various European cities from just 40,000 points each way (plus taxes and fees)
Lie-flat business-class seats to Madrid on Iberia from just 40,500 Avios each way (plus taxes and fees)
But I actually rarely transfer Chase points to these programs, since there are various other transferable rewards that transfer to them.
While my recent United MileagePlus redemptions haven’t been aspirational, they have delivered big value.
The last nine times I’ve redeemed United miles have been for intra-Europe economy flights costing 6,000 to 8,000 points (plus $18 to $79) per person. This has become my favorite way to redeem United miles since they’ve often saved me from high rates while also giving me a flexible option if my plans change.
On the World of Hyatt side, I’ve gotten an average of 3.62 cents per point when redeeming Hyatt points since the start of 2025. My highest value redemption in this period, a five-night stay at Story Hotel Stockholm North, got me a massive 5.78 cents per point.
