It might sound too good to be true, but one of Southwest Airlines’ most valuable offers is back: a limited-time opportunity to earn the airline’s highly coveted Companion Pass through a credit card welcome bonus.
If you qualify, a designated plus-one can join you on unlimited Southwest flights — and they’ll fly for free. You’ll just cover taxes and fees (typically $11-$50 per flight).
Normally, earning the Companion Pass requires taking 100 qualifying one-way flights or racking up 135,000 qualifying points with Southwest. That’s a lot of flying.
But right now? You can bypass all of that and earn it in a much simpler way by grabbing one of these card offers:

The Companion Passes are valid through Feb. 28, 2027, and work on any Southwest flight, at any time, with no blackout dates or limit to how many flights you can take — just consider the enormous value you and your travel pal could squeeze out of that.
Book an expensive flight to Hawaii? Your companion comes for just taxes and fees. Weekend trip to Nashville? Same deal.
And each of these cards also covers the first checked bag for free for cardmembers and up to eight guests on the same reservation — that’s piling savings on top of savings.
