Happy Sunday, TPG readers! Whether you’ve been settling into springtime or enjoying some college basketball, I hope the month of March has been treating you well.
Unfortunately, March is bringing some negative changes to the beloved World of Hyatt loyalty program, as a sweeping devaluation will roll out this week. This is certainly not the kind of change we like to see, but the good news is you still have time to book any of the 118 Hyatt hotels and resorts affected at their current award pricing before their categories rise Tuesday.
And needless to say, this month hasn’t been kind to Southwest Airlines loyalists, either. Last week, we dove into Southwest’s plans to ditch its popular Wanna Get Away fare and revamp a host of benefits, which was just the latest in a string of bad news for those who used to “LUV” the airline.
Are you feeling lucky — or just short on time? Last week, we dove into the viral “airport theory.” If you haven’t seen it on TikTok, following the airport theory means you aim to arrive at the airport as close to departure as possible (sometimes 15 to 20 minutes before your flight) so you can walk onto the airplane once you reach the gate.
Personally, I’m much too risk-averse to even attempt this sort of thing. But thrill-seekers may enjoy the adrenaline rush before hitting the skies, I suppose.

Let’s hope for more good news in the coming weeks!
