The Delta Air Lines credit cards issued by American Express currently have increased welcome bonuses that go as high as 110,000 miles and are among the best-ever offers we have seen for these cards.
But here’s why the Delta SkyMiles Platinum card is my favorite Delta card and is worth considering. First things first: Until Oct. 23, it has an increased limited-time bonus of 90,000 SkyMiles after $4,000 in eligible spending in the first six months.
Beyond that, though, it comes with a very valuable Delta companion certificate that provides what essentially amounts to a BOGO ticket to fly Delta on eligible flights and fare classes within the U.S. (including Hawaii and Alaska) and even to Central America and the Caribbean (just pay the taxes and fees).
A BOGO flight voucher is a huge and unique benefit that, as long as you use it, often makes it easy to recoup the card’s $350 annual fee (see rates and fees), especially if you and a companion are heading somewhere like Hawaii!
The Delta Platinum card now also comes with an annual $150 Delta Stays statement credit (I’m eyeing Disney hotels for mine) and additional statement credits for Resy and ride-hailing services like Uber. (Enrollment is required for select benefits.) Here’s how to maximize that group of statement credits.
Naturally, that’s all on top of a free checked bag for you and up to eight people booked on the same Delta reservation, the Delta SkyMiles-earning it provides (both for redeemable miles and ones that count toward elite status), and a 15% discount toward award flights operated by Delta.
Here are some tips for picking the best Delta card for you while the welcome bonuses are still elevated for a few more weeks.
Don’t miss this limited-time offer on the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card: Earn 90,000 SkyMiles after $4,000 in eligible spending in the first six months. Offer ends Oct. 23.
